How to Submit a Buy (N) X, Select (N) Y Promotion

Need to setup a new Buy (N) X, Select (N) Y promotion? Submitting a request is a simple procedure. Here's a step by step guide:

Step 1: Download the Buy (N) X, Select (N) Y Submission Form here and save it to your computer.

(Note: Requests submitted without a Buy (N) X, Select (N) Y Submission Form will be rejected until a form is submitted.)

Step 2: Open the Buy (N) X, Select (N) Y Submission Form in Microsoft Excel. There are 6 types of Buy (N) X, Select (N) Y promotions, and they are explained on the first tab of the submission form before you start submitting.

If your BXSY Promotion includes a channel B item, please make sure you have made the following checks on the article(s):

1. Channel 20 and 40 retail must align in SAP for all channel B items [✓]

There are eleven (11) columns in the Submission Form tab of the spreadsheet:

• [B] N Value (X)
• [C] Buy X (Article #)
• [D] N Value (Y)
• [E] Select Y (Article #)
• [F] X - Threshold ($)
• [G] Y - Discount Type
• [H] Y - Discount Value
• [I] Start Date
• [J] End Date
• [K] Description

Column [A]

This column is a dropdown where you choose the Buy (N) X, Select (N) Y Scenario you are submitting. This helps us figure out any miscommunication in case the remainder of the spreadsheet is filled out incorrectly.

Column [B]

N is the amount of X article(s) required for the promotion to fire. This must always be a positive number.

Column [C]

This is where you enter your X article(s).

Column [D]

N is the amount of Y article(s) required for the promotion to fire. This must always be a positive number.

Column [E]

This is where you enter your Y article(s).

Column [F]

Only fill out your dollar threshold for your X articles if you are submitting a Buy (N) X, Select (N) Y promotion for scenarios B, D or F.

(Ex. Buy multiple X articles worth a minimum of 200$ to get Y Free/% Off/$ Off, then you would enter "200" in this column)

Column [G]

This column is a dropdown to specify the discount of your Y article(s).

• Free (Scenarios A and B)
• % Discount (Scenarios C and D)
• $ Discount (Scenarios E and F)

Column [H]

If your Discount Type (column G) is Free, then leave this blank. If your Discount Type (column G) is a % or $ Discount, please enter the value of your % or $ discount here.

(Ex. Buy an X article to get a Google Mini for 50% off/$50 off, then you would enter "50" in this column)

Column [I]

This is where you specify the date to kick off your Buy (N) X, Select (N) Y promotion.

Column [J]

This is where you specify the date to end your Buy (N) X, Select (N) Y promotion.

Column [K]

Please give us a brief description of your promotion.

(Ex: Receive a free Google Mini (Chalk or Charcoal) when you purchase a Google Home.)

Step 3: Sign into your account on the HomeDepot.ca Digital Promotions Portal and click the "Submit a request" button in the top-right corner of the site. 

Step 4: Under "How can we assist you today?", select "Promotions" from the drop-down menu.

Step 5: Under "Promotion Type", select "Buy X Select Y (BXSY)" from the drop-down menu.

Step 6: Fill out the remaining required (*) fields on the request form and attach your Buy (N) X, Select (N) Y Submission Form to the Attachments bar at the bottom. If you attach the wrong file, simply click the "x" to the right of that file's name to remove if from your request and re-attach the correct file.

(Note: The Attachments bar has a 20MB size limit.)

Step 7: Once the request form has been filled out, click "Submit" and your request will enter the queue. You will be sent a confirmation email that your request has been received with a ticket number, which you can use to track the status of your request.
